What if there were a news service fully for creatives?
What would it look like?
Perhaps it’d sample interesting think pieces, stories about business and the arts, and new research that’s being published.
It might summarize the ideas and draw connections between the different pieces of information.
The program would be watch and analyze trends.
Among those points of interest are:
scientific and technological advancements
the creator economy
artificial intelligence
NFTs
media and social media innovation
business
publication of new ideas
cultural shifts
Surely, too, one would want to find the time to include throwback articles and other useful write-ups beyond the fast-churning news cycle of our day.
My aim now is to begin to bring you all news and articles of interest for creatives, innovations, and people dedicated to imagination.
That’s the goal of Monday Motion now.
This publication has been fairly dynamic here in these first few months.
But I think it’s all finding itself as I experiment, fail, and redo a lot of these various items.
The question in the title crossed my mind some time ago, and it’s stuck with me.
And quickly gained traction.
I’ve been re-evaluating my format and the distinction between the three articles that I publish throughout the week.
The lines between how each of the editions — Monday Motion, Thursday Theses, and Lateral Saturdays — are not stark.
I think one of the best ways to resolve this and implement by ideas is to begin curating news and interesting reads I feel are worth sharing.
In a wonderful way, I think things are falling into place.
The name of the publication is changing as well.
I’m shortening the half-baked pun of “Taking It Laterally,” which basically, ineffectually inserts the concept of “lateral thinking” into the phrase “taking it literally,” simply to “Laterally.”
This is just the beginning.
We’re also just a few months away from exciting news.
February will mark the launch of a pretty big change for Laterally.
More on that to come though.
